Problem
VASP (Virginia Academy of School Pyschologists) needed their website to be updated, as it became out-of-date for their needs. It wasn’t communicating efficiently and didn’t look professional.
Solution
Ran a discovery workshop to understand the organization, it’s structure, it’s challenges, and priorities. This helped us gather invaluable information to build a better website.
Discovery Workshop
We met with the executive leadership for a discovery workshop in Virginia. Through this workshop we learned VASP needed a better understanding of the people they serve, how VASP should speak to them, and what solutions VASP offers them. We also learned VASP needed a redesigned logo and full brand guidelines before we updated the website.
Brand Identity Design
We redesigned the logo to make it cleaner, more modern, more memorable, but also with a retro feel.
VASP never had brand guidelines, so we created guidelines covering everything for the rules around how to use the updated logo, to how VASP should talk to their audience.

Website design
Based on the work we did in the first 2 phases of discovery and brand identity, we were ready to rebuild the website. We brought readability, breathability and hierarchy to the update of the website. We updated the sitemap to remove site pages that were no longer needed, so the user feels less overwhelm navigating the website.
